About Us

Tyson and Janna Turner started the Smiles from Spencer Foundation in honor of their son Spencer in 2010. 

In November 2008 Spencer was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He strongly fought a 13 month battle and we said good bye in December 2009. During those 13 months there were many people and organizations that helped us along the way and we decided that we wanted to give back to those who gave and helped us.  The name of our organization, Smiles from Spencer, was created because Spencer became well known for his smile. 

No matter what kind of treatment he was receiving he smiled and tried to make others smile as well.  The quality of life that Spencer had and tried to give to others was amazing.  

We are trying to carry on his legacy by providing other kids and families reasons to smile no matter what they are facing.
