About the Smiles From Spencer Foundation

In 2010, Tyson and Janna Turner founded the Smiles from Spencer Foundation, a charity organization dedicated to honoring their son Spencer. After Spencer was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in November 2008, he bravely fought a 13-month battle before we said goodbye in December 2009. Throughout this journey, many individuals and organizations provided invaluable childhood cancer support to our family, and we wanted to give back to those who helped us. The name of our foundation, Smiles from Spencer, reflects the joy Spencer brought to others with his infectious smile. No matter the treatment he underwent, Spencer always managed to smile and uplift those around him, showcasing an incredible quality of life. We aim to continue his legacy by being a family support foundation that provides other kids and families with reasons to smile, regardless of the challenges they face.
